Internal Policy
As NIRMAN sees the COVID19 pandemic as a crosscutting issue(and even much more than that), hence it has started incorporating measures against the same in its programmatic planning as an essential component. As a part of this strategy the survey team members doing the baseline survey for ICRISAT were covered under COVID protection insurance and were also provided with safety kits including Govt. of India approved alternative preventive medicines.
The Executive Director took preventive and precautionary steps and circulated an advisory of Do’s and Don’ts to all employees, alongwith the following steps:
- Face Masks were distributed to all employees who were advised to wear them during working hours.
- Hand sanitizers were made available on all work-stations. Instruction was given to maintain social distancing while working.
- NIRMAN encourages staffs to use digital platforms, in-person meeting & manage day-to –day work within the allowed spaces.
- Regular updates and detailed advisories are being shared through emails, website and WhatsApp groups.

The organization is concerned with issues relating to the negative impact of climatic variations and current development paradigm that has endangered the natural resources and traditional knowledge base. Thus, it yearns to have sovereignty over the seed, the soil, the land, water, the indigenous knowledge system and strives to achieve sustainable use of natural resources and democratize its governance pattern.
