Career in the Indian development sector has been quite challenging and different from that in the corporate- or government sectors chiefly because the development sector is primarily based on ‘not-for-profit but ready round-the-clock (to serve the society)’ approach. This means any-time work but honorarium for sustenance. In fact this is how true volunteers have worked for the society (some have even worked without any financial expectation). NIRMAN however believes in staff welfare & development, and hence offers, apart from an affordable salary, opportunities for skill development and demonstration of capabilities (all applicable to regularized staff on pay-roll).
